Across the globe, Wi-Fi enabled devices are becoming more and more common, generating tremendous opportunities for service providers to address the growing demand for mobile broadband services. Mobile data increases year by more than double the figures, and is likely to grow 26-fold in the half-decade between 2010-2015; the main usage of which will come* from laptops and handheld devices. This week, Wavion announced a new market milestone, launching a family of outdoor Wi-Fi base stations named WBSn (Wavion Base Station “n”). WBSn combines the company’s decade of outdoor Beamforming experience, with the latest in Wi-Fi 802.11n technology, bringing new levels of capacity, coverage and interference immunity to outdoor Wi-Fi. WBSn enables carriers, municipalities and enterprise bodies to construct large scale and highly cost-effective networks for applications that include 3G/4G cellular offloading, digital city and numerous vertical networks.

The Starter Kits provide new and existing customers with an easy and convenient introduction to the WBSn family of products. The WBSn Starter Kit package contains two 802.11n base stations, four 802.11n Wavion approved CPEs and the Wavion Coverage Tool, which enables coverage and capacity to be mapped using Google Earth, for optimal radio planning.

CommunicAsia, held earlier this month in Singapore, was a noteworthy event for the Telecom industry, with operator and vendor delegates traveling from all over Asia to attend. The convention provided a unique opportunity for Wavion to meet with many of our most valued partners and customers.
